Ready to look years younger without going through surgery? Facial rejuvenation treatment is here for you. At Mountain View Family Dental, Dr. Sean Bringhurst offers treatment with Botox and Jeuveau. Both soften the appearance of aging and can be used to treat TMJ disorder symptoms as well.
Our Aesthetic Treatments
With Botox or Jeuveau, you can rejuvenate your appearance by smoothing facial wrinkles such as:
- Frown lines (glabellar lines)
- Crow’s feet (lateral canthal lines)
- Forehead lines

Botox or Jeuveau?
Botox and Jeuveau are both neuromuscular inhibitors made from purified botulinum toxin type A. Administered by injection, they both relax facial muscles, smoothing the appearance of wrinkles and allowing you to look years younger.
So which one is best for you? Here are some factors we may consider in recommending a treatment for you.
Treatment Area
Jeuveau is effective in treating glabellar lines. A study on treatment of glabellar lines reported an 87.2% responder rate of patients receiving Jeuveau injections, compared to an 82.8% responder rate of those receiving Botox. If frown lines are your primary concern, Jeuveau may be a good fit for you.
While Jeuveau is FDA-approved to treat glabellar lines only, Botox has a wider range of on-label applications. Botox is FDA-approved to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines. If you’re looking to treat multiple areas simultaneously, Botox is a great option. One study showed an 82% satisfaction rate among patients receiving Botox treatment in two areas and an 88% satisfaction rate among those receiving treatment in three areas.
Cost
Jeuveau’s cost per unit is slightly lower than that of Botox. Since treatments tend to consist of at least 20 units, this difference in price can add up. You may opt for Jeuveau to receive the same type of aesthetic treatment Botox offers at a lower cost.
Brand Longevity
Of the two, Botox is the more established brand, having been around longer. If you’re looking for a product with a long-standing reputation, choosing Botox makes sense.
Botox for TMJ Disorder
If you suffer from TMJ disorder, injections with a neuromuscular inhibitor like Botox can help. When injected into the masseter or temporalis muscles, Botox relaxes them, offering relief by:
- reducing muscle tension
- alleviating jaw pain
- improving jaw movement and function
Either Botox or Jeuveau can be used off label to treat symptoms of TMJ disorder. However, as the more established brand, Botox has some clinical trials showing effectiveness in the treatment of TMD symptoms. In one study, 90% of patients who received Botox experienced an improvement in pain when chewing.
What to Expect
Treatment with Botox or Jeuveau is quick and simple. We begin by cleaning the treatment area. Then, Dr. Bringhurst uses a small needle to place the injections in select areas. This process lasts only about 15 minutes.
Results Timeline
How quickly will your results appear, and how long will they last? These time frames vary from patient to patient, but here is a general timeline for what you can expect post-treatment.
Time After Treatment:
- A few days: Results become noticeable
- By two weeks: Full results are visible
- 3-4 months: Typical duration of results
Botox/Jeuveau Aftercare
After your treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, and/or bruising. To reduce swelling, you can hold an ice pack on the affected area for up to 10 minutes at a time. For best results and to prevent bruising, on the day of your treatment:
- Stay in an upright position (don’t lie down) for the first 3-4 hours
- Don’t rub the treatment area
- Avoid alcohol and NSAIDs (like aspirin or ibuprofen)
