Mesa Pediatric Dentistry

Your whole family is welcome here! In addition to serving adults, the general dentists at Mountain View Family Dental provide routine care and treatment to children of all ages. We are in network with all major insurance providers.

Our Pediatric Services

We offer the following services for children:

Preventive

  • Exams
  • X-Rays
  • Dental cleanings
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Protective sealants (permanent molars & premolars)

Restorative

  • Fillings (white composite)
  • Crowns (stainless steel)

We offer nitrous oxide as needed to help children relax into any necessary treatment.

Protecting Your Children From Tooth Decay

Prevention is a cornerstone of our practice. To help protect against cavity formation in children, we provide fluoride treatments to all permanent teeth throughout childhood. We also offer sealants, which are coatings applied to your child’s permanent back teeth (molars and premolars) to protect them from the bacteria that can cause cavities. The “after” image of the molar below shows the visible protection a sealant provides.

Convenient, Affordable Care For the Whole Family

Being able to bring the whole family to the same dentist makes it easier to stay on top of regular checkups. Our convenient appointment hours help, too. We’re open every other Saturday, so you don’t have to plan around school breaks if you don’t want to. And we are in-network with all major insurance companies, making care for your family affordable as well as convenient.

At What Age Should My Child Start Seeing a Dentist?

We’d love to see your child as soon as his or her teeth first emerge. This is because developing early positive associations with dentist visits sets children up for a lifetime of healthy oral care. To help make things fun, at the end of the visit we’ll offer your child a token to get a toy from our toy machine.

What is the Difference Between a General Dentist and a Pediatric Specialist?

A pediatric dentist is a specialist who has received additional training in the care of children and has a practice limited to the treatment of children. However, while our dentists are general dentists and not specialists, they have all received the necessary training to provide basic dental care for children. We enjoy seeing children, and love making it convenient for you so that your entire family can be seen in one office. If your child’s treatment needs go beyond the scope of our practice, we’ll refer you to a pediatric dentistry specialist.

Autistic Children and Others with Special Needs

We are comfortable treating autistic children and others with special needs. Again, if we feel that your child’s care needs the attention of a specialist, we’ll be happy to refer you to one.

Your Family’s Home for Dental Care

If your family needs a new dentist, we’re here for you. To get started, give us a call to schedule an exam. Or feel free to request an appointment online, and we’ll contact you to set one up.
