KöR Whitening vs. Zoom

You may have heard of Zoom, a brand of in-office whitening treatment that involves the use of a light. Because this brand is well-known, it may surprise you to learn that a light is not necessary for powerful teeth whitening. In fact, patients receive quick, dramatic results on even deeply discolored teeth with KöR Whitening, which uses no light.

This is because what truly whitens teeth is the presence of a bleaching agent on the teeth for a prolonged period. When KöR’s powerful peroxide gel formula is given time to seep down below the enamel, deep stains are dissolved and the color of your teeth is bleached several shades brighter than ever before. What Makes KöR Effective?

The unique way that KöR whitening gel is formulated and handled provides consistently effective results while preventing sensitivity.

By design, the KöR peroxide gel formula is more sophisticated than that of other brands. Instead of the traditional two-barrel formulation, KöR uses a three-barrel system that supports the use of additional chemicals for a more robust, powerful formula.

But the KöR difference goes beyond its chemical makeup. Immediately upon manufacture, KöR gels are kept under constant refrigeration, through storage, shipping, and delivery. This is because the temperature of peroxide gel has everything to do with its efficacy and whether or not it causes sensitivity.

Exposure to elevated temperatures (whether in a hot delivery truck or a room-temperature cabinet) causes peroxide gel to break down before it should. This premature breakdown decreases both the potency and PH level of the gel, making it less effective and more acidic. The more acidic the gel, the more sensitivity it causes. Carefully held under constant refrigeration, KöR whitening gels retain their potency to deliver powerful results while causing little to no sensitivity.

KöR Power Whitening

Here’s how our in-office treatment works.

Preparation

To prepare your teeth and gums for whitening treatment:

1. Your teeth are polished.
2. Cheek retractors are placed to hold your lips open.
3. KöR desensitizer is applied to minimize sensitivity.
4. Your gums are coated with a protective barrier.

Whitening

Your visit includes three treatments of peroxide gel. For each treatment:

1. Potent peroxide gel is applied to your teeth.
2. We ask you to rest in a still position for 20 minutes while the gel releases its bleaching power.
3. The gel is removed.

Final Rinse

After the third application:

1. Your teeth and gums are thoroughly rinsed to remove the gel and protective barrier.
2. KöR desensitizer is applied for additional protection against sensitivity.
3. Cheek retractors are removed.
4. You go home with a dramatically brighter smile!

At-Home Whitening Treatment

At-home treatment with KöR uses a less concentrated peroxide gel to whiten your teeth over a longer period of time. Here’s a look at our process:

Tray Fitting

At your initial visit, we’ll take digital impressions of your teeth to custom-fit you for a plastic tray. The tray will fit snugly over your teeth to hold the peroxide gel in place.

Protocol

We’ll give you everything you need to begin at-home treatment: your tray, the peroxide gel, and instructions for daily whitening. You’ll insert a small amount of gel into your tray and wear it each day for the specified amount of time, over a 2-week period.

Follow-Up

After about two weeks, we’ll see you for a follow-up visit to check for sensitivity and take a look at your results. If you’d like to brighten your smile even more, we’ll get you set up for another round of whitening.
