Smile Makeovers

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding effectively corrects minor smile imperfections — such as chips, gaps, and spots — in one appointment. This treatment works differently from treatment with veneers, which involves covering smile imperfections with aesthetic porcelain veneers crafted by a ceramist. To perform dental bonding, our cosmetic dentists do all of the artistic work to recreate the beauty of your tooth right here in our office. This involves skillfully applying composites of varying translucencies, glosses, and shades directly to your tooth so that when finished, it looks beautiful and completely natural. The left front tooth shown below was restored so seamlessly with dental bonding that you can’t tell it was ever cosmetically treated.

How It Works: To prepare your teeth for dental bonding, we first etch and roughen the tooth’s surface. Then, we apply the composites. Finally, we allow the composites to harden under a curing light and polish the tooth to complete the restoration.

Teeth Whitening

Depending on the complexity of your smile goals, you may choose teeth whitening as a stand-alone treatment or as a complement to other cosmetic treatments. In fact, any upgrade to your smile aesthetics should begin with an assessment of your satisfaction with your current tooth shade. This is because any other cosmetic treatments (porcelain veneers or dental bonding) you have done will be designed to match the coloration of the rest of your smile. And unlike your natural teeth, these won’t respond to whitening treatments, so you’ll want your smile to reflect your ideal shade before moving forward with bonding or veneers.

We offer convenient in-office whitening through KöR and Venus White. Both work by applying extra-strength hydrogen peroxide gel directly to the teeth and do not involve lights or lasers, which tend to cause some sensitivity. In about an hour, you’ll go home with a significantly brighter smile! The treatment can be repeated as many times as you like to achieve your ideal level of brightness.
